Ha. I forgot to reply to your last message. No offense was taken. :)

I was running WP 2.8.4, and still got compromised. I suspected a plugin, but then a friend’s site with 2.8.4 with no plugins also got hacked. I wonder if there are issues remaining in 2.8.4?

I don’t know much about security, but I recommend this:

Thankfully I have full backups nightly, so it took 1 hour to fix.

It’s because they have strict approval guidelines. Often they’re after high quality and unique websites. But beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess!

Why is it so difficult to get into DMOZ? I’ve submitted a few sites but been turned down each time. Are they looking for something in particular?

It *IS* worth getting into DMOZ if you can, but I’d be reluctant to spend too much time trying to get in. DMOZ is not the only place to get high quality links. So by all means, try, but don’t hold your breath.
