About Me
My name is Dan Harrison (otherwise known as Daniel Jago Harrison). In case you were wondering, my middle name Jago is the Cornish form of Jacob. I’m often asked how to pronounce my middle name, it’s pronounced “Jay-go”.
You might have noticed the letters after my name on my email signature (Dan Harrison MEng MBCS). The MEng relates to my Computer Science degree from the University of Southampton. The MBCS means that I am a member of the British Computer Society (BCS).
What about all this web stuff?
I’ve been a web developer for over 4 years now. I’ve learnt a great deal about search engines, content creation, content management, advertising, link building and all other activities relating to getting a site noticed and visited. I also love coming up with fresh ideas to interesting problems.
From time to time, I’ll share my thoughts, rants and advice on this blog. The topics will include web design, SEO, business advice, time management, development, marketing, networking, and probably a few other things too.
Anything else?
So here are a few other titbits of info about me. I live in Hampshire (in the UK, not the US). I’m training as a pyrotechnician. I love eco-friendly gadgets (I own and run EnviroGadget.com). I bake cakes. I have a very sweet tooth. I get hyper on full-sugar carbonated soft drinks and some types of sweets. (yes, really, I do!)
